Where Judaism Comes To Life!

About Us

We are excited to be entering our fifth year of The Park Ridge Jewish Discovery Program for the coming 2025-2026 school year!

At JDP we believe that children learn best through interactive experiences and hands-on discoveries. Children will experience the ideas and ideals which are taught in a tangible and artistic manner through creative activities, crafts, drama and more.

The key focus of our program is to give your child a positive, enjoyable and exciting experience, while learning about their Jewish heritage with all the traditions and holidays that come along with it, thus giving them a pride in being Jewish. Our students will be encouraged to ask questions and find answers.

Our dream is for our students to gain a true pride in who they are and the people they are a part of. But that's not enough. We won't be satisfied with 'proud fans' graduating our program. Aside for being proud of who they are, we want our students to feel a responsibility to take an active role in their Jewish life, to ‘be a player on the playing field'.

Upbeat, exciting, educational, creative and welcoming are the kinds of adjectives we want our graduates to think of when they reflect back on their experience in 30 years from now. Help us create that experience for your children!

We welcome you to join our JDP family! Give your child(ren) a priceless gift, the opportunity to learn more about her/his Jewish heritage, to take ownership of it, and to feel proud of it!

Our Learning Goals and Standards:

At JDP, we engage your child's sense of identity by capturing his/her imagination and attention. So, we put a lot of effort into providing our students with substantive lessons and a positive atmosphere.

The lessons are multi-sensory and hands-on, ensuring that the students truly experience what they are being taught. The lessons are structured to create a lively, interactive experience. The information truly becomes the student's own.

At JDP, we promise that every lesson will be engaging, innovative, fun, relatable and memorable.

This years theme:

We’re excited to announce two brand-new curricula for the 2025-2026 school year!

Here’s what your child will experience this year:

  • My Jewish Treasure (Grades Pre K–2):
Calling all explorers! Children will be diving into the incredible treasures of Judaism each week - mitzvot, traditions, values, and more! With interactive activities, games, and crafts, children will uncover the bounty of Jewish treasures in the past, their own lives, and the world around us. Each week, your child will collect a special “treasure token” to fill their personal “Jewish Treasures Chest” - while also discovering their inner treasures of kindness, confidence, and a strong Jewish identity.

  • Israel Quest (Grades 3–5):
Get ready for an adventure! Children will journey through the epic story of the Jewish people from entering the Land of Israel, to building the Beit Hamikdash, and beyond! Each week, through immersive and creative activities, games, and adventures, children will step into the shoes of prophets, kings, and heroes, discovering the strength of our people and the unbreakable bond we share with our homeland.

  •

These innovative and fun-filled lessons were developed by the global Chabad Children’s Network (CKids) to bring Jewish learning to life like never before.

Our Curriculum:

Tefillah - Prayer: In the 'busy-ness' of everyday life, prayer gives us the opportunity for introspection. Our goal is for our students to attain a familiarity with both the mechanics and deeper messages of the prayers.

Kriah - Hebrew Reading: Attaining the skill of Hebrew reading allows our students to connect to their Jewish identity through the Torah's original language.

Chagim - Holidays: Each holiday celebrates a unique story, a distinct message, along with special practices and rituals that bring the holiday alive. Our holiday curriculum synthesizes these three elements (story, deeper message, rituals/practices), bringing a relevance and joy to the Holiday.

Mitzvot - Jewish Practice: The Torah is full of rituals and values to help guide us in living meaningful and productive lives - even (or perhaps, especially) in contemporary times.

Our Story: History The history of the Jewish nation is really the story of every individual Jew. Beginning from the Six Days of Creation and moving through time, the children explore the incredible journey of the Jewish people, and in effect, of themselves. Lessons are interactive, fascinating and relevant; children meet biblical and historical personalities and learn their stories —their challenges, their triumphs and their contributions. Children are inspired to add their link to the chain of Jewish history.
